Built on a
good name and
honest work
Founded in 1946 by Don Bauer and Hector Gilmer, Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators began in a small Minneapolis warehouse taking on a wide variety of metal fabrication work. Don designed and built many of the company’s early tube-bending machines.
As demand grew, Bauer expanded its facilities several times, ultimately building its long-time headquarters in Mounds View, Minnesota. Over the decades, the company invested in advanced manufacturing technologies, including robotic welding, CNC tube bending and cut-to-length lasers.
After working under the name Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators for 80 years, we changed our name to Bauer Tube Fabrication in 2026 to reflect our expertise in complex tube bending and fabrication. Today, Bauer is a 90-person manufacturing partner continuing to build on our bending, welding and fabrication experience.
